Description
The Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology (MPIM) at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine is now recruiting full-time, academic professional track (non-tenured) position as an Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor or Instructional Professor, depending on qualifications. This will be an 11-month academic appointment, renewed annually, with an anticipated start date in the fall of 2024.
The primary focus of this position is teaching. Candidates will participate in developing and delivering curriculum for the College of Medicine. Candidates may serve as course director and provide lectures for graduate level courses such as Introduction to Disease and/or Mammalian Immunobiology. Candidates will also support the College of Medicine by serving on curriculum committees, holding leadership roles, and conducting scholarly and creative activities in accordance with the university, college and departmental expectations. Candidates will provide service to the university, college, department and public in accordance with university expectations.
Specific expertise is required in the core pre-clerkship curricular topics, including: Immunity, Infection, and Microbiology. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to education that is synergistically aligned with the goals of College of Medicine medical and graduate education.
Qualifications
Required:
- MD, PhD, or other equivalent professional degree in Immunology, Microbiology, or related field
- Experience teaching Immunology related curriculum
