The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the level of ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research focuses on cancer, immunology, inflammation-related diseases, mechanisms of microbial pathogenicity and the role of the microbiome in health and disease. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. degree in the biomedical sciences or a related field, or an M.D. or equivalent, and at least two years of postdoctoral experience. We encourage applications from candidates who utilize modern imaging, genomic, epigenetic, or systems biology approaches to understanding functions of the immune system, cancer biology, or microbial pathogenesis. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial Biomedical Sciences Department and will be expected to develop/maintain an extramurally funded research program, teach medical students, participate in the interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences graduate program and contribute to the service activities of the department. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills. The successful applicant will hold a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and be provided a competitive startup package. Preference will be given to extramurally funded applicants. Salary is dependent upon rank, qualifications and experience.
