Senior Faculty Position: Host Pathogen Interactions in the Lung
Department of Microbiology & Immunology
Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology (https://geiselmed.dartmouth.edu/microbio/) and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek applicants for a senior faculty position to inaugurate a new cluster group in Lung Biology, Infectious Diseases and Cystic Fibrosis (CF). This cluster is supported by a newly established endowment at Dartmouth, and the successful candidate will participate in additional searches to recruit at least two additional faculty members to the cluster. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an outstanding record in externally funded research and scholarly publication in the area of host-pathogen interaction in the lung. An appointment at the rank of Professor is preferred, although outstanding candidates at the rank of senior Associate Professor may also be considered. Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to, the microbiome and its impact on health and disease, innate or acquired immunity, mucosal immunity, microbial pathogenesis, and immunotherapeutics for infectious lung diseases. Those with an interest in CF or CF-related pathogens are preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a leadership role in faculty recruitment, development of program projects that attract extramural funding, mentorship of junior faculty, research training for graduate and undergraduate students, and teaching at different levels. The candidate is expected to join the Lung Biology Program (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~lbcobre/). Faculty members in Microbiology and Immunology are members of the PhD graduate program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (www.dartmouth.edu/~mcb/). Depending on areas of expertise, successful candidates may also participate in Dartmouth’s graduate programs in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Science.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D., MD or equivalent.
