The Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology (http://medicine.tamhsc.edu/mpim/index.html) is now recruiting tenure track faculty in immunology at the ranks of Assistant, Associate and Professor for the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Bryan/College Station. The Department is undergoing significant expansion and strategically plans to enhance its current strengths in immunology. Successful applicants will have relevant post-doctoral experience, high quality publications and will be expected to establish and maintain a high quality, extramurally funded, independent research program. Areas of interest include, but are not restricted to, innate and adaptive immune responses, host pathogen-interactions, mucosal immunology, T and B cell development and responses, and immunological diseases using genetic, genomic, proteomic, molecular and cellular immunology approaches. Successful candidates will join an interactive faculty housed at a major research university with state-of-the-art core facilities including live animal imaging, flow cytometry, BSL-2,-3 labs and excellent AAALAC-accredited conventional, gnotobiotic, and ABSL-2, -3 animal facilities. Appointments are 12 months with an attractive salary, highly competitive start-up package and laboratory space. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborations in basic and clinical sciences as well as interdisciplinary programs with other components of Texas A&M University and the Health Science Center campuses, including the Houston Campus Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston (http://www.ibt.tamhsc.edu/research/ciid/index.html) and Houston Methodist Hospital and Research Institute (http://houstonmethodist.org) in the Texas Medical Center. Texas A&M University is one of the largest in the US and ranks in top 20 in terms of research funding, with approximately $1 billion annual research expenditures.
