Faculty Position in Microbial Computational and Systems Biology
Department of Microbiology and Immunology
Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

The nationally-recognized Department of Microbiology & Immunology (M&I; see BRIMR.ORG) and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Computational and Systems Biology in microbial organisms. The ideal candidate will use computational and modeling approaches to address foundational questions about mechanisms in microbial biology and disease. Those who combine computational approaches with laboratory experiments are preferred. Areas of research interest include but are not limited to studies of the systems biology of large-scale biochemical reaction networks, interacting regulatory networks, metabolic networks, cell signaling networks, and mechanisms of pathogenesis. The successful candidate will be expected to direct an independent research program that will attract extramural funding, provide research training for graduate and undergraduate students, and teach at different levels. The candidate is expected to join a new interdisciplinary Neukom faculty cluster on Computational Science. Faculty members in M& I are members of the PhD graduate program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (www.dartmouth.edu/~mcb/). Depending on areas of expertise, successful candidates may also be members in Dartmouth’s graduate programs in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences, Experimental and Molecular Medicine, Engineering, Physics, and Computer Science.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D., MD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral experience is preferred. Application materials, including a curriculum vitae, representative publications, a statement of research interest (not to exceed 4 pages), and at least three letters of reference. should be uploaded to: https://apply.interfolio.com/37550.
