The California National Primate Research Center (http://cnprc.ucdavis.edu) and the Center for Comparative Medicine (http://ccm.ucdavis.edu), University of California-Davis centers engaged in investigative research involving infectious disease in the non-human primate model, are seeking candidates for 2 full-time academic positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Ladder Rank and In-Residence series. These positions will be sponsored by the School of Veterinary Medicine (www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu). Successful candidates must have a PhD, MD or DVM and postdoctoral experience showing a track record of publications in high-quality journals. Applicants must have a research program focused on the use of non-human primate models of human infectious diseases. Candidates are expected to establish and maintain a strong extramurally funded research program and to actively participate in the academic and service missions of the Centers and the University. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere. Ample office and laboratory space is available in the Centers (including access to BSL2 and BSL3 laboratory space), with state-of-the art facilities, instrumentation, and administrative support. Center research and teaching programs interdigitate with other campus-wide programs and resources in the Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Each appointment will be in an appropriate academic department within the School of Veterinary Medicine and will receive 0.5 FTE salary support and start-up funds to support the research program. The remainder of the salary support is expected to be recovered through the candidates extramurally supported research program.
