Tenure-Track Faculty Position

The Department of Immunology and Molecular Microbiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (http:// http://www.ttuhsc.edu/) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with research interests related to host-microbe interactions, microbial pathogenesis and mucosal immunology. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborations with faculty members in basic science and clinical departments. A 12-month, institution-supported salary as well as generous start-up funding and laboratory space will be provided. In addition, the institution provides ongoing support via our state-of-the-art imaging, flow cytometry and molecular biology core facilities. Appointees will be expected to develop an active research program, procure and maintain extramural funding and participate in medical and graduate student teaching. Special consideration will be given to candidates with current extramural funding.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) together with Texas Tech University and Angelo State University comprise the Texas Tech University System. TTUHSC offers programs in Allied Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at TTUHSC offers the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in six concentrations of study including cell and molecular biology; biochemistry and molecular genetics; immunology and infectious diseases; pharmaceutical sciences; pharmacology and neuroscience; and physiology. The TTUHSC campus is located across the street from Texas Tech University whose current enrollment exceeds 35,000 undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to ongoing research programs at TTUSHC, the successful candidate will also have unlimited opportunities to interact with numerous well-funded faculty on the TTU campus with research programs in biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics and engineering.
