Assistant or Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology

Faculty will teach Microbiology and/or Immunology courses in the preclinical, integrated medical school curriculum and will contribute to similar coursework in the Postbaccalaureate Studies Program. Content should be delivered using traditional and innovative delivery modalities with a clinically-relevant focus which will also require cooperation with clinical faculty in designing clinical case studies and other clinical relevant exercises. Background in microbial pathogenesis is preferred, and additional experience/ability in Biochemistry or Pharmacology instruction is a plus. The appointment includes disciplinary oversight of curricular development, contributing to faculty and staff hiring, and grant writing. Other responsibilities include mentoring students, mentoring junior faculty, publishing in refereed journals, participating in professional organizations, and participating in campus and community service activities. The position reports to the Associate Dean for Biomedical Affairs through the Chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

1. An earned Ph.D., D.O./M.D. or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Three years of successful academic experience in a medical school and/or higher education with specific teaching responsibilities in Microbiology and/or Immunology
3. Preferred track record in teaching and leadership from an accredited medical school
